BCCTV ON THE BIG SCREEN

Please join us for BCCTV ON THE BIG SCREEN, an anthology of short works created at the Bud Clark Commons homeless service center. Over the last twelve months, in a series of workshops and weekly meetings, a community of video makers was formed at the Commons. This screening is a culmination of the diverse works produced throughout the year, ranging from personal documentary to live action horror, from comedic sketches to fictional dramas and a variety of animated shorts.

Videos will be screened that were conceived and produced by David Boston, Sumaiyya Evans, Eugene Olson, John Pinney, Russell Waggener, and by the BCCTV group.

The Electric Slide dance, Saturday, December 8th, 2012 at noon

Come learn the Electric Slide and dance with us!

Open to anyone and everyone. We will be learning, dancing and recording the Electric Slide under the Burnside Bridge West on Saturday December 8th at 12:00 pm.

Your moves will be in a documentary by the team at BCCTV.

It will be taught by Linda Austin from Performance Works NorthWest and open to anyone who wants to learn the dance and be in a BCCTV documentary.

The Electric Slide has been instrumental in bringing people together to celebrate services that help with addiction recovery and homelessness. BCCTV member, Sumaiyya, wants to reignite the energy and hope she has felt in her own life from the dance and feature the event in her documentary about her life and homelessness.

Based in the Bud Clark Commons, BCCTV is free and open to anyone who has, or is currently experiencing homelessness.

We will offer classes on how to make videos and edit them, and we will host public screenings of videos made here and elsewhere.

BCCTV is organized by artists in residence Carl Diehl, Ariana Jacob, Joan Lundell, Mack McFarland and Jeffrey Richardson. This project is funded by The City of Portland Percent for Art program administered by
